ESI Motion’s NOVA Servo Drive Wins 4-Star Best-in-Show at Sea Air Space 2019

At ESI Motion, we strive to create industry-leading servo drives and servo drive modules, optimizing our designs and engineering for maximum power, speed, and ruggedness in the smallest possible form factor. We take pride in our products, which is why we are always thrilled to receive professional recognition – and now, we’re excited to announce that our Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Nova drive has won the 4-Star Best-In-Show Award at this year’s Sea-Air-Space conference in Washington, DC.

The Sea-Air-Space conference is the largest maritime exposition in the United States, bringing together key decision-makers in the US Navy alongside hundreds of critical suppliers to showcase the latest in naval, air, and space technological capabilities. Each year, the conference gives out awards to the most impressive products and systems showcased at the exhibition – and ESI Motion was selected as one of 3 companies to be honored with a Best-In-Show Award for our light, powerful NOVA space-ready servo drive.

The NOVA Low Earth Orbit Service Drive

The NOVA servo drive is an extremely lightweight, dual-axis motion controller developed specifically for applications in Low Earth Orbit space systems. The drive maximizes performance in the lightest and smallest form factor possible, delivering up to 100W of output power per access and a 75,000 RPM maximum electrical speed in a 4″ x 3.5″ x 1.9″ chassis that weighs less than 2 lbs. The NOVA drive also delivers ESI Motion’s characteristic ruggedness, designed to tolerate radiation and extreme vibrations without the need for extra protection or cooling.
